a hymn

Hallelujah, What a Savior!
By Philip P. Bliss

''Man of sorrows!'' what a name for the Son of God who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim!
Hallelujah! What a savior!
Bearing shame and scoffing rude, in my place condemned He stood-
Sealed my pardon with His blood:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Guilty, vile and helpless we, Spotless Lamb of God was He;
Full atonement can it be?
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Lifted up was He to die, ''It is finished'' was His cry;
Now in Heaven exalted high!
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
When He comes our glorious King, all His ransomed home to bring,
Then anew this song we'll sing:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

even if I don't herd cattle, ride or rope...

... I'll always be a cowgirl.
My sister Hannah, age 17 (that's a picture of her at right when she was much younger-7 or 8), is a true-blue cowgirl.
I love this quote:

" 'Cowgirl' is an attitude really. A pioneer spirit, a special American brand of courage. The cowgirl faces life head-on,...makes no excuses. Cowgirls take stands; they speak up. They defend things they hold dear.''
~Dale Evans

AMEN!!!
I like that. Pioneer spirit. American courage. Defending things we hold dear.
Whether you live in a city ( like me), the country, or somewhere in the middle, we should strive to be
cowgirls.
Are any of you cowgirls? I really want to hear from you!

Love,
Emily

hooray!

I won these earrings!

Polka Dot is starting a photography business, and asked readers to give suggestions for a business name. If anything 'struck her fancy' the earrings above ( made by Cinderbella's) were to be given to the winner. Well, I entered 'Chasing Sunbeams'...and she used that idea for her business, 'Chase the Light'.

I can't quite describe it, but it seems like such a big step for me, I don't know where or why, but I feel a sort of excitement bubbling up!(It's hard to put into words, so forgive that last bit.)

This was my first time entering a give-away, and I won!

My mama always said I was a moniker-maker. *grin*

Can you tell I'm just a wee bit cheery?

Love,

Emily

P.S. the earrings came today! Wrapped in a sweet box with a pretty pink bow. Aaah, the little things in life.

Christ told us...

Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant.

clipart-winter-graphicsfairy011.jpg

Isn't this a charming piece of antique loveliness? I found it at the Graphics Fairy. Such a beautiful painting, and such a sweet reminder to 'Love the Lord your God'. We must love God. He loved us so much that He has given us salvation, not because we deserve it (we deserve eternal punishment), He sent His Son to die because of His great Love for us. We would not have sought after God, if He had not sought us first, we love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19).

It says in John 14: 15 that if we love Christ we will keep His commands.

Here are some ( there are many more) of His commands we can show Him love with. We can love God by submitting to Him in every area of our lives. By prayer. By sharing His Gospel with the lost. By believing we can do nothing to earn His salvation or love. By repenting and turning from ALL sin in our lives. By feeding the hungry. By honoring our parents. By serving our families. By using kind words. By honoring and following His Word, the Bible. By loving Him more than we love ourselves or others. By praising His Name and telling Him that we love Him, and not just telling Him we love Him, but by truly loving Him.

There are so many ways we can show our love to Him, to express how truly grateful we are to Him for...everything (James 1:17).

I pray you all have a blessed evening, and continue to LOVE HIM MORE!

Lots of love in Christ,

Emily

P.S. My family and I just love the gorgeous wintery scene on the clip art. It just makes me feel so happy and hopeful. What do you think?
